About

The Little Wellbeing approach started with simple meditations I introduced in my classroom. Watching how quickly and naturally children absorbed mindfulness practices made me reflect on how little space is given to these tools within traditional education. I began exploring different mindfulness techniques and their connection to emotional regulation, gradually building a collection of resources and ideas. Over time, I realised there was a real need for these approaches, but very little time or space within mainstream education to fully integrate them. This inspired me to create a space where children could develop these skills in a more intentional and accessible way.

Who am I?

My name is Kristýna. I am originally from the Czech Republic, but spent the last 10 years in London, where my passion for mental health and wellbeing began. During my Master's degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics of Health at University College London, I explored the complex relationship between mental health, policy, and the environments that support wellbeing.

Alongside my studies, I became increasingly drawn to mindfulness and its potential to support emotional wellbeing. I completed yoga and meditation teacher training and became actively involved in the mindfulness community, exploring how these practices can be woven into everyday life.

I later worked in an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) school, where I had the opportunity to bring these practices into my work with children. Supporting children with emotional regulation and wellbeing allowed me to see first-hand the value of mindfulness-based approaches and sparked the idea that became The Little Wellbeing.
